applied classic search methodology to assignments in a wide variety of

High Tech / Biotech / Industrial:
We’ve completed many assignments in this area, across all functions, at
the "C" level, VP, Director and other executive levels. Positions have
been in Marketing and Sales, Finance, Operations, Engineering, Program
Management and Human Resources. Industries have included
pharmaceuticals/biotech manufacturing, electronic systems and
components, aerospace, automotive, defense/military systems, wireless
communications and automated equipment. Clients have included Allen-Bradley
(Rockwell), Kollmorgen, Thomson Electronics, B F Goodrich/Goodrich

Consumer Products: Alan
Darling has many years of experience in management of consumer products
companies, having sold to customers such as Wal-Mart, Sears, L. L Bean,
Kroger, Crate & Barrel and Macy's. Assignments in consumer
products have included the VP/Marketing for a stuffed toy company, the
VP/Marketing of a jewelry manufacturer, the National Sales Manager for Black
Flag, the Sales Manager for an importer of men’s gifts,
and the President of a woodenware manufacturer.
Banking/Finance: We’ve
completed assignments for the Head of Trust who established the trust
department for a New Hampshire bank, a Senior Trust Officer for a
Vermont Community Bank and a Commercial Loan Officer for a
Massachusetts community bank. We’ve also recruited Chief Financial
Officers for hospitals, manufacturers and many other organizations.
Information Technology: Our
assignments in this area have included the Technology Leader for a
large real estate syndication company, the Chief Information Officer
for a company that at that time was the nation's leader in library
information systems (this candidate later became the president of the
company), the Chief Information Officer (since promoted to
president/CEO) for Shaw's, a $3-billion
food chain, as well as MIS Managers for several healthcare providers.
Legal: Our assignments
in this area have included a Real Estate Practice Partner for a
Boston-area firm, the Chief Legal Officer for a major Washington, DC,
hospital system, a Healthcare Attorney for a large Upstate New York law
firm, the Information Systems Director for a large Boston law firm, and
the first-ever Administrator for a 30-employee suburban Boston firm. We
also completed the search for a publisher of legal textbooks.
Non Profit: Our work with
non-profits has included recruiting a Chief Operating Officer for Oxfam
America, the Executive Director for the largest reformed
temple in Boston, the Executive Director of the American
Public Health Association and the Executive Director and
Director of Development of Keewaydin, an
outdoor and environmental foundation located in Vermont that has been
featured in Sports Illustrated.
Retail: Chief
Information Officer for Shaw’s Supermarkets,
$3-billion food retailer (this person was promoted to CFO, and later
became President and CEO of the chain).
Healthcare: We've
completed numerous assignments in healthcare, having recruited senior
executives in virtually every functional administrative area, including
Chief Operating Officers, Group Practice Administrators, Chief Medical
Officers, Nursing Executives, Human Resource VP's, CFO's and MIS
Managers.We've also recruited Physicians, including Thoracic Surgeons,
Neurosurgeons, Cardiologists, Urologists, ENT's, Orthopedic Surgeons
and Oncologists. Clients have included Brigham &
Women's, Beth Israel/Deaconess, Healthsouth - Braintree (formerly Braintree Rehab), the American Public Health Association,
George Washington University Medical Center
and Washington University/Barnes as well
as community hospitals in Upstate New York, Massachusetts, New
Hampshire, Maine, Ohio and Florida. We also completed a consulting
assignment for a Northeastern Healthcare System that determined the
need for a physician recruiting/physician liaison department, and set
up detailed physician recruitment techniques. Kimball Shaw was one of
the founding members of Arthur D. Little's healthcare consulting group,
and was a healthcare consultant for many years.
