Links to Job Hunting Tips
|
For Candidates We are a retained search firm, and are not in the business of helping job-hunters find new positions. In the 20 years since our firm was founded, we’ve never had a randomly-mailed CV or resume match one of our assignments (we work on only a handful of searches at a time, and our clients’ requirements are very specific). For this reason, we do not provide an email link for candidates to send in a resume. It is only productive to contact us when you learn that we are working on a position that is a very close match to your experience. Click here if we have contacted you about
becoming a candidate for one of our searches - you will learn more
about our search process. We have a new site that provides free job-hunting advice, filled with tidbits and tactics for career-changing six-figure executives: www.JobMagician.com . This site is growing larger by the week, as we continue to add new material to it. In addition, here you'll find some basic information on job-hunting techniques for executives. Our first and best recommendation to job hunters is to buy the following book, read it cover-to-cover, and do everything it says. The book, Rites of Passage at $100,000 to $1,000,000, is not only the best executive job-hunting book, it is also the best-selling, having sold over 350,000 copies. The author, John Lucht, is a retained executive search consultant, and a high-powered one. The book is informative, funny, and fun-to-read. The following link provides additional information on this book, along with ordering information: Rites of Passage at $100,000. There is no easy and simple way to find a new job, and there is no single technique that is effective enough for you to use exclusively. Instead, you should use a multi-faceted approach, using the techniques you'll read below. You’ll find more details on most everything mentioned here in Rites of Passage, as well as on Job Magician. |
